Functional Website Development for Denver Networking Organization
BNI Rocky Mountain Elite is a referral networking group for Denver business professionals, including Kreativ Alchemy. The chapter is on a perpetual journey to expand its footprint and attract new visitors. The leadership team retained Kreativ Alchemy to streamline the goal through website development and workflow automation. We created a beautiful, searchable, and functional website to find visitors, capture lead information, and retain a professional image.
Professional Website Design
We designed a website that’s clean and easy to navigate for members and potential visitors. It features top-level pages for users to:
- Learn more about the group;
- Sign up to visit a meeting;
- Explore the application process;
- See current group members;
- Read takes from the group’s professionals;
- And get in touch with the leadership team.
A critical aspect of functional website development is simplifying processes to reduce the need for human intervention. Kreativ Alchemy implemented workflow automation technology to streamline the visitor registration process. Before this website, when a visitor wanted to register to attend a meeting, they either had to complete the process themselves on the regional BNI website or rely on a group member to remember to register them. This clunky process caused several visitors to get overlooked or group members to not receive proper credit for their invitees.
To streamline the process, we created a dynamic visitor registration form to collect visitor information directly on the website. If a visitor is invited by a current member of the group, they can select the member from a dropdown menu. Once they submit the form, the member who invited them receives an email with their information, prompting them to complete their registration in the networking organization’s portal. This process ensures that visitor information is always accounted for and group members get credit for the visitors they invite.
Another aspect of this website development project required Kreativ Alchemy to implement logic to display specific content to the public and specific content to group members only. We created functionality that allows existing and new group members to register for a website account and access exclusive, member’s only, content.
When a user is logged out, they see the standard website navigation. However, when a member is logged in, they see several exclusive menu options appear in the footer, such as:
- A resources page that displays information about local and global networking events, referrals, and various accounts and chats;
- A place to pay chapter dues and select payment frequency;
- And the ability to edit and update public-facing member account information.
Finally, we wanted to ensure BNI Rocky Mountain Elite shows up when people search for networking groups in Denver. We conducted a keyword audit and developed a list of high-volume search terms relevant to that query. Then, we wrote search-engine-optimized website copy for every page incorporating one of those search terms as the focus keyword. To monitor site traffic and adjust our keyword strategy accordingly, we created and connected Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads.
In addition to website development, since search engine optimization requires consistent website content updates, we developed a blog strategy around Rocky Mountain Elite’s weekly presentations. Every week, during our meeting, one group member gives a detailed presentation about their profession and industry. We plan to coordinate with the featured presenter to create a blog post on a similar topic ahead of their presentation. Kreativ Alchemy will optimize the blog post with keywords and post it a few days before we meet. Then, the group members can use the blog post as a marketing tool to reach out to visitors interested in learning more at the meeting.
